Update on “Buddy”

In San Pedro Animal Hospital News // No Comments

After nine days of being sick and five days of 24-hour hospitalization, IV fluids, and IV antibiotics Buddy has made a tentative recovery.  He went home with his owner to his family last night.  He was eating a very small amount but the vomiting and bloody diarrhea finally seems to have resolved.

Buddy was suffering from a severe gastroenteritis with septicemia.  Septicemia is when an intestinal infection becomes so severe that it spreads to the bloodstream.  At this point the infection becomes life-threatening.  We were fortunate to be able to save Buddy and we send our best wishes to him and his family for a full recovery.  Thanks to those who donate to SPAF he was able to get all the veterinary care that he needed to survive.  Thank you Donors and Get Well Soon Buddy!
