Internships or externships are available to veterinary students from all over the world regardless of their level of training or year of veterinary school. We enjoy teaching as well as learning from the students we works with. Veterinary students bring up to date knowledge of procedures and therapies for pets, as well as un-dying enthusiasm to San Pedro Animal Hospital. In return, we do our best to make it an interesting and rewarding experience for the interns. The caseload offers a variety of experiences difficult to find in veterinary schools in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Students are able to perform spays and neuters independently, with supervision by Dr. Droke or another attending doctor as needed. Free spay and neuter programs for the community can be implemented during a student’s stay, which allows San Pedro Animal Hosptital to benefit the community as well as offering valuable experience for the interns. Students will also gain valuable experience in the management of tick-borne diseases, other infectious diseases, traumas and emergency medicine. Since San Pedro Animal Hospital offers 24-hour care, interns will treat intensive care cases from entry to discharge.
